It is designed for applications in research and development, production, and incoming inspection. The system is configured by plugging the user selectable load modules into the system mainframe. The A series offers 8 different modules with power ratings from watts to 1, watts, current ratings from 0.
The loads can be operated in constant current, constant voltage, constant power and constant resistance and may be placed in parallel for increased current and power. The A series can simulate a wide range of dynamic loading applications. The waveforms programmable parameters include: slew rate, load level, duration and conducting voltage. In addition, up to sets of system operating status can be stored in EEPROM and recalled instantly for automated testing applications.
Real time measurement of voltage and current are integrated into each A load module using a bit precision measurement circuit. The user can perform on line voltage measurements and adjustments or simulate short circuit test using the user friendly keypad on the front panel. Additionally, the A series offers an optional remote controller for automated production lines. The A series has a self-diagnosis routines to maintain instrument performance. Application of Specific Load Simulation The A load modules operate in constant current, constant voltage, constant power or constant resistance to satisfy a wide range of test requirements.
For example, the test of a battery charger can be simulated easily by setting the load to operate in constant voltage. Dynamic Loading and Control The A loads offer high speed, programmable dynamic load simulation and control capability.
The figure below shows the programmable parameters of the A modules:. The programmable slew rate makes the simulation of transient load change demanded by real life applications possible. Parallel Control The A provides parallel control, which enables high power testing when a single module cannot meet the requirement of high power applications. Two or more load modules can be paralleled together to achieve the desired loading. The A comes with RS as standard for remote control and automated testing applications.
The built-in resistive load current sensing circuit is capable of measuring current with an accuracy of 0. OCP Test By simply choosing the channel and setting the OCP parameters start current, end current, step current and dwell time from the front panel, the A series provides a fast and easy OCP testing solution.
The A series will automatically detect the OCP point, making it an ideal solution for design verification as well as production line testing. DC Electronic Load. Add to Inquiry Cart Data Sheet.

Mainframes holds four or two modules, up to 8 loads total Parallel load modules up to 1, W total power, A total current Constant Current, Constant Resistance, Constant Voltage, Constant Power modes Dynamic loading to 20 kHz with internal pulse generator Fast, adjustable slew rate from 0. The A series load modules will be compatible with the A mainframe for 2 load modules and the A mainframe for 4 load modules. In addition, the remote control commands will be compatible between the and the A series without needing to re-writing any remote control programs. The Chroma A W and A W electronic load mainframes accept the user-installable A series load modules for easy system configuration and will mount in a 19" instrument rack. This makes it ideal for testing multiple output switching power supplies and multiple DC-DC converters.

The system is configured by plugging the user selectable load modules into the system mainframe, and operated using the keypad on the front panel of the instrument or the remote controlled instructions via RS or GPIB interface. The family offers 8 types of modular loads with power ranging from watts to watts , current from 0. Each load is isolated and floating, programmable in dual current range and measuring voltage range, and capable of synchronizing with other modules for control operation. The load can be operated in constant current, constant voltage, and constant resistance. The electronic load family can simulate a wide range of dynamic loading applications. The loading waveform is user programmable in slew rates, load levels, duration and conducting voltage. Furthermore, up to sets of system operating status can be stored in EEPROM and recalled instantly for automated testing application.
