May 08, Sasha Alsberg rated it liked it. Faking it was a decent book! I really enjoyed Losing It but FI didn't really live up to my expectations. I loved Cades story but I felt like the ending of the book was really rushed.
Wasn't a bad book just a bit rushed at points. View 2 comments. Dec 09, Chiv marked it as paused. I highly recommend buying this book because from these teasers, you can really see that she put a lot of effort into this novel.
How awesome is that? I've waited so long for this moment. View all 3 comments. Jun 04, Christy rated it really liked it. Oh Cade I was so happy to find out he was getting his own book! Cade is in PA, going to get his masters in theater. Cade is the good guy, the best friend. My heart broke for him in the beginning of this book. He is still not over Bliss. But he has to move on. She is with Garrick, and things are getting more serious between the two of them.
So he makes up a story about going home. He is in a coffee shop, stewing, when he sees her. A girl named Max. To be able to continue living her dream, she has to appease her conservative parents. When they show up unexpectedly for Thanksgiving, she knows she is in big trouble. Cade is sitting alone, looking handsome and respectable.
She gets him to play along for a while and he charms the pants right off mom and dad. He is an acting student. MFA student, volunteer, mom-hugger, and your boyfriend for the next twenty-four hours.
They go their separate ways and plan to meet in the morning. She is the first girl that makes him forget all about Bliss. She has a bit of a situation, and Cade saves the day.
They both start to fall for each other a little bit that night. Cade lets her in a little bit, telling her some of his pasts. She knows he is special, but she also knows he is way out of her league. Max and Cade have both suffered pretty big losses. Even though they both appear to be strong on the outside, their pasts are both full of pain and they both have a fear of the future.
Mine made me want to be perfect, so that no one would ever want to leave me again. Mine just made me angry. It made you passionate and alive. It made us both who we are. Their lives get more intertwined and things get more complicated between the two. Never before had I fell so intensely and so quickly. Max swept into my life like a hurricane, and I never stood a chance. Max pushes people away. Cade lets people go.
It is their pattern. I actually liked it better. Cade was just AH-mazing! Max really grew on me. I loved the two of them together!
A brilliant mixture of romance, humor, heat, and angst. It was smart, sexy and fun! A very enjoyable read. View all 95 comments.

I'd like to say that I loved this book as much as I loved Losing It, but that isn't true. I had every reason to like Max and I did but not as much as I should have.

Faking It (Losing It, #2)
Thank you for being my best friend, my teacher, my coach, and nothing like the horrendous moms in my book. You loved me and loved words, and taught me how to love both as well. Thank you. A thousand times, thank you. You would think I would stop subjecting myself to the torture of seeing the girl I loved with another guy.

No argument here. Then he bailed. No questions asked. No valiant offer to brave meeting the parents. He walked out the door, lit up a cigarette, and took off. For a second, I thought about following him. Now, I just had to figure out what to tell my parents about my suddenly absent library-going-nice-guy-boyfriend.
