Waiting on a parcel or an update to your enquiry? Due to severe delays in our letters and parcels network causing increased requests to our call centre, we ask that you follow this advice to self serve when tracking your parcel.

MarkSB Member asked a question. The website says it cannot be tracked, but surely you track it to know where it is so it can be tracked? It looks like the sender has used a service which isn't trackable within Australia. We still often receive internal tracking so I've checked it on my end and it looks like the parcel arrived here back on the 4th but hasn't been handed over to us for delivery just yet.

All parcels are processed into the country before they are lodged in our mail network for delivery. Hopefully, it isn't much longer until we have your parcel and can get it out to your address. How will i be able to tell that my parcel has been released to Auspost? Usually, I'd say to track on our website but that won't be possible with this parcel. Because the latest status of the item by Deutsche Post was:.

The item was processed on Nov 29, at our Logistics Center. It can be about 15 days from time of processing to arrival - if it has yet to arrive. Postage from Germany to Australia takes longer than neighbouring European countries.

It does not have tracking events, but Australia Post might apply internal tracking events on the item as it makes it way in the country, when it reaches here. Hi Michael, my parcel arrived into Australia on the 4th, its funny i can track global parcels quite easy, but once it hits Australia the system seems to break down.

Why don't all the parcel services communicate you would have a lot less frustrated customers. But you have to be aware that this item does not have tracking. It's a article number applied to the item in Germany. Once it departs for Australia, it has no special conditions attached to it.

It's treated as another item of ordinary mail. That's why Australia Post cannot track this item when. It enters the country. The sorting facilities may be able to identify that it should have some kind of local tracking applied but that is for internal use. Its something the postman will scan to say that it's been delivered to the address but won't require you to sign for it. Trackable items in the best case scenario are ones handled by the major courier frieght companies such as Fedex and DHL.

There doesn't seem much information that tells you to use 'X' logistics to have it tracked to your door unless i'm missing something?

I've been buying a subscription to German national newspapers and magazines in english editions. To answer your question, you may or may not also know that Deutsche Post became privatised back in and then they bought DHL and so DHL became a part of the group. That means they work together as one company group to deliver and distribute all mail and parcels. For your item, it was under their Post — eCommerce — Parcel division.

DHL Express is a separate division altogether. It is the worldwide courier and freight service. Your mail may or may not have flown with a DHL plane or another company flying DHL's mail or in its livery but remember, your item was ordinary mail not an Express parcel. If it was the latter, it would have travelled completely separate - got its own Air Waybill Number AWB and received full end-to-end network tracking.

And, that's also why once it arrived in Australia it gets passed onto Australia Post. Here is an old photo of a mailing piece I already uploaded to an old question. Appreciate the detailed reply, good to know how it works, i know now if i want it quicker then to use DHL Express. Log in to start a new discussion. Log in. Discussion details.
